A Heads-Up About Fish

The French generally prepare fish with the entire head intact. When eating fish in a French restaurant, you usually will be required to fillet it yourself. Fortunately, your server will give you a special knife to remove the skin.

Salad Dressing

When in France, you probably will not be able to order ranch dressing and the like for your salad, as the French prefer vinaigrette made with vegetable oil, mustard, garlic and red wine vinegar. Generally, the dressing is not poured on the salad, rather, it is mixed from the bottom of the bowl.
